03 Sep Loewendorf Presents At The lFPA Conference in Manchester
Dr. Loewendorf presented a poster introducing a noninvasive sampling method that allows researchers to characterize the cells located between the placenta and the uterus itself. This is important to understand how the mother tolerates the baby given that the baby is half mother and half father. The elements that are from the father would usually be attacked/rejected by the maternal immune system but in healthy pregnancy that doesn’t happen. This poster discusses Dr. Loewendorf’s attempts to understand the mechanisms that hold back immune attacks.
