Allyson joined Huntington Medical Research Institutes (HMRI) in October 2016 as the Vice President of Philanthropy. Prior to joining HMRI, she served as Senior Director of Gift Planning at Caltech for six years and as Associate Director of Gift Planning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and the Director of Planned Giving at Scripps College in Claremont, California. Allyson was born in Pasadena, grew up in Southern California and received both her bachelor’s degree and her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California (USC). She is a member of the California State Bar and the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning – Los Angeles, where she will serve as President-Elect in 2016-2017, and President in 2017-2018. She practiced corporate and regulatory law in the Los Angeles area for twenty-five years before transitioning sixteen years ago into development with a focus on planned, major and leadership giving.
Allyson and her husband Roland, an attorney, live in Pasadena, and are the parents of three adult children. She has served on the Board of Trustees of both Mayfield Junior School in Pasadena and the South Central Los Angeles Ministry Project (SC LAMP), as well as the Advisory Board of Nativity School in Los Angeles, and is currently a member of the Mayfield Development Committee and Chair of the SC LAMP Development Committee.
