About Tammy Sullivan

Tammy Sullivan joined HMRI as Vice President of Research Administration and Compliance in July 2019. She provides leadership to HMRI’s research activities, including sponsored awards, regulatory affairs, compliance, ethics, core services, clinical & laboratory research, and environmental & occupational health and safety.

Prior to joining HMRI, she served as Independent Consultant and Director of Grants Management for various nonprofit organizations.  She brings over 20 years’ experience in grant management, internal controls, policies and procedures, internal audit, monitoring, education and training, and strategic planning with a focus on federal, state, and local government agencies, universities, foundations and nonprofit organizations.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Organizational Development from Spring Arbor University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Western Michigan University and is a Certified Grant Management Specialist.

One of her notable accomplishments is contributing author and subject matter expert for the Grants Management Body of Knowledge (GMBoK) Guide. She also led the implementation and publication of the GMBoK Guide in partnership with the National Grants Management Association and KGS Government Solutions.
