HMRI’s Dr. Harrington says although there’s currently no treatment known to slow or halt the progression of Alzheimer’s disease, that doesn’t mean there’s nothing we can do. “The important need is for a lot more research to seek an understanding of the neurodegeneration process that is occurring decades before any symptoms. HMRI and some other organizations are actively following this urgently needed approach,” said Harrington.
