HMRI's Research Services Core Lab features cutting-edge, centralized facilities, offering partners access to sample preparation equipment, analytical instruments, technology, testing, and related services. The RSC ensures investigators are free to focus on their studies, supported by our expert technical and consultative services. The goal is an efficient, collaborative experience that accelerates progress and propels your research to the phase. HMRI’s Research Services Core supports investigators through high-quality basic science and histology services, testing and technological support.

Basic Lab Services include centralized reagent preparation, sample preparation and derivatization, bench biochemical assays, spectrophotometry, and cellular characterization. Histology Services include sample preparation, sectioning, staining, and image analysis. Both tech and self-service are available to HMRI investigators and affiliated institutions.

Instrumentation

Agilent Seahorse XFe96 Analyzer

The Seahorse XFe96 Analyzer characterizes cell lines and measures OCR, PER, ECAR, and ATP production in live cells, providing insight into a wide range of cellular functions. Mitochondrial respiration and extracellular acidification rate in live cells can also be measured using the RSC lab’s Seahorse XFp.

Leica CM1950 Clinical Cyrostat

The Leica CM1950 is a semi-motorized specimen feeding high-performance cryostat. It is used to freeze and section a variety of tissue specimens for evaluation. The CM1950 features a Leica Biosystems Microtome to ensure high-quality, efficient, and reproducible tissue sectioning.
