As requested by popular demand, board-certified neurologist and neurophysiologist Yafa Minazad, MD, will present "Aging Gracefully: Our Body, Brain, and Mind- Part II" on Tuesday, January 21, at 4 pm via Zoom.
Dr. Minazad is a co-founder of the Southern California Neurology Consultants (SCNC) group in Pasadena, a multi-specialty Neurology group offering sub-specialist neurology care. These include various areas of neurological disorders, including epilepsy, stroke, headaches, and others. SCNC provides neurohospitalist services at Huntington Hospital, including stroke care.
Dr. Minazad completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California Los Angeles, followed by medical school at Western University of Health Sciences. After that, she attended the Neurology residency program at LAC-USC . After completing her residency in 2004, she entered the Neurophysiology fellowship program at LAC-USC with an emphasis on Epilepsy and Intraoperative Monitoring. Dr. Minazad started her career as the medical director of the Neurophysiology laboratory at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, CA. Under her leadership, Huntington Hospital developed a comprehensive in-house Neurodiagnostic laboratory program.
In pursuit of her passion for program development and leadership, she completed a master’s program in Medical Management at USC Marshall School of Business. She currently serves as a visiting professor at HMRI, assisting with the Brain Aging Study.
